SuppliesPrepare the needed supplies to make a woven headband. You will need a plain white headband and (4) 30 inch lengths of 3/8″ ribbon.
Step 1Attach each of the ribbons together using a hot glue gun.
Step 2Place one pair of ribbons at an angle on the inside tip of the headband. Attach the ribbons using a hot glue gun.
Step 3Place the other pair of ribbons at an angle on the outside tip of the headband. Attach the ribbons using a hot glue gun. The colors that are facing upward will make up the inside diamond of the weave.
Step 4Fold the upper right ribbon down over the back side of the headband. Join the pair of ribbons together to the left hand side of the headband.
Step 5Fold the upper left ribbon down over the front side of the headband. Join the pair of ribbons together to the right hand side of the headband. You should have a pair of ribbons on each side of the headband. This is the starting position to begin the weave.
Step 6Fold the front right ribbon over the back side of the headband.
Step 7Fold the back right ribbon over the front side of the headband and join the ribbons together.
Step 8Fold the back left ribbon under the front left ribbon and over the front side of the headband.
Step 9Fold the front left ribbon over the back side of the headband and join the ribbons together. Now you are back to the starting position. Be sure to pull tight on the ribbons to keep the weave neat and prevent it from coming loose.
Step 10Continue to weave the ribbons until you have completely covered the headband.
Step 11When you have completely covered the headband, leave approximately ½ inch of ribbon and cut the excess ribbon off using scissors.
Step 12Fold the ends of the ribbon around the inside of the headband. Attach the ribbon ends using a hot glue gun. Trim the ribbon as needed.
