How To Make A Hair Streamer

Supplies
Prepare the needed supplies to make a hair streamer. Hair tie, 2 inches of 3/8″ ribbon, 20 inches of 3/8″ ribbon, 20 inches of 5/8″ ribbon, 20 inches of 7/8″ ribbon, & 20 inches of 1 1/2″ ribbon. Embellishment is optional.
Step 1
Finish each of the ribbon ends using the V cut.
Step 2
Take each of the ribbons and stack them one on top of the other from largest to smallest.
Step 3
Mark the center of the ribbons with a pencil.
Step 4
Take the threaded needle and weave it through the center of the ribbons.

How to cover an alligator clip.
Step 1
Prepare the needed supplies to cover an alligator clip. Be sure to heat seal each of the ribbon ends.
Step 2
Take the ribbon and insert it into the alligator clip. The end of the ribbon should be placed at the back (inside) of the alligator clip.
Step 3
Apply a thin layer of glue across the top of the alligator clip.
Step 4
Fold the ribbon down and across the top.
Step 5
Apply glue to the inside of the hinge area.

Sealing ribbon ends is easy.
Fray Check or Nail Polish
Fray check is a fast drying sealant which can be used to effectively seal ribbon ends. Apply a small amount of fray check to the cut end of the ribbon. You can also seal the ribbon ends using clear nail polish or fabric glue.
Heat Seal with a Lighter
To heat seal the ribbon with a lighter, quickly run the flame along the edge of the cut ribbon. Use precaution when working with a lighter. Be careful not to burn, melt or singe the ribbon.

To further beautify your hair bow creations, it is recommended that you finish your ribbon ends using one of the following cutting techniques. Finishing ribbon ends will not only assist in preventing unwanted fraying or unraveling, but will add to the beauty of each of your unique hair bow creations.
