Sealing ribbon ends is easy.

Fray Check or Nail Polish
Fray check is a fast drying sealant which can be used to effectively seal ribbon ends. Apply a small amount of fray check to the cut end of the ribbon. You can also seal the ribbon ends using clear nail polish or fabric glue.
Heat Seal with a Lighter
To heat seal the ribbon with a lighter, quickly run the flame along the edge of the cut ribbon. Use precaution when working with a lighter. Be careful not to burn, melt or singe the ribbon.
Heat Seal with a Candle
To heat seal the ribbon with a candle, hold the cut end of the ribbon out next to the flame and quickly run the ribbon along the flame. Use precaution when working with a candle. Be careful not to burn, melt or singe the ribbon.

Heat Seal with a Heat Tool
A soldering iron or wood burning tool can also be used to heat seal ribbon. Lay the ribbon down flat on a safe working surface. Place a ruler on top of the ribbon and use the ruler’s edge as a guide. Carefully move the tool along the ruler’s edge allowing it to melt the ribbon.
